Short post but a resource I made for myself to refer back to and thought could be helpful for some - I've recently delved back into fake cuts but ended up stymied by how to make multiple fake cuts in one post. Surely that should be possible! And it is, but there's an extra couple tags you have to add to make it work.

This tutorial by Tessisamess covers in perfect detail how to make a fake cut so I'd suggest going over there and following that step by step. The only difference in syntax is that you use a <cut> tag on Dreamwidth instead of <lj-cut>. (I think the <lj-cut> syntax works fine here on DW too but for the sake of making everything as DW-native as possible I switched it to <cut>).

Once you've followed the tutorial, first thing you want to do to make sure it's going to work on Dreamwidth is put a </cut> tag after your cut content. Then, to make two (or more) fake cuts in one post you can just duplicate your first cut and set your second one up the same way.

The following is Tessisamess' example code adjusted for Dreamwidth, with multiple cuts:
However! Like this, your first cut is going to hide the contents of your second cut on your entries page. So the second cut will show up on the entry page itself, but not on the main entries page of your journal (rendering it pretty useless). To fix this, add an extra </span> tag after every </cut>.

And that's it, you can now have an unlimited amount of pretty styled fake cuts for your entries!
